- VirtualBox is a multi platform and open-source virtualization tool for Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and other operating systems, that lets you create virtual disc units in which you can install a guest operating system within the one you normally use on your computer, using it in the same way as if it was actually installed.

Using Virtualbox 6.0.10 Using Vbox Guest Additions for Windows v. 6.0.10 Host OS: MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 Hardware: 2017 27' iMac 5K, SSD only, 32GB RAM All 64-bit Vbox settings: 8GB RAM for Guest on a 32 GB total for host without VM running. Turntable 3 2 4 equals. Thanks very much for any help.
I am very desperate about a sudden lack of performance on my development machine.Host = Windows 10 64 Bit Pro with all current updates
Guest = Debian 9 (Linux 4.9.0-12-amd64 on x86_64) with all current updates
This combination used to run very smooth with almost no lack. I use it to develop PHP scripts running against SQL (MariaDB)
6 To The Power Of 0
After one of the Windows updates end of 2019 and/or one of the new Oracle VM versions I encountered a massive drop of performance. And I am not talking about 10% I am talking about 1000% (yes ten thousand). Some of my SQL statements which used to run in less then one second no need more then 5 seconds. Once a month a run a about 100 SQL statements to create dozens of materialized views. It used to take 2-4 hours to finish now it takes 1.5 days, always.I have no idea if this is an Windows, Oracle or Debian issue.
But now comes the really strange part which leaves me completely puzzeled.
Yesterday I installed Oracle 6.0.18 and refused to restart my Windows machine when asked to. And what happened? The old GOOD performance was back. Scripts running faster, SQL statements back to how it used to be. But today, after starting Windows I am back to the poor performance. I am very desperate as I have no clue what to do. I don't even now which nuts and bolts to tune.
This are the versions of Oracle VM which I tested today with no success:
5.1.38
Virtualbox 6 0 64 Bit Windows 10 Free Download
5.2.386.0.18
6.1.2
6.1.4
Virtualbox 6.2
I attached the log files.
Please push me into the right direction.
Thanks in advance
